Personality: Very confident and easy going, Masahiko is quite the down to earth guy when you meet him, quite shocking to a lot of people given the fact that he is the famed and feared Emperor of Zeal. He can ab loud, obnoxious, and very sure of himself, but he always means well for all of Athesia. The Four Pillars usually get headaches trying to keep him in his castle to do paperwork rather than running around doing whatever else he pleases. Masahiko also thoroughly enjoys travelling to the Eight different Kingdoms frequently to meet all of the different people of his Empire. When doing this he usually tries to keep a low profile.

Backstory: Born in the Varili Kingdom, Masahiko Suzuki learned to adapt to harsh conditions very quickly in life. Even from early childhood he was an incredible prodigy with unlimited potential. Earning the respect of all of his peers and elders for his immense ability and lighthearted, fun loving nature. Masahiko would travel around the Eight Kingdoms doing battle with many of the current Almighty Eight as well as many other past powerful warriors throughout the lands. Masahiko's shining moment would come during the Zeal games where he would go on to be victorious and become the student and successor to the previous Emperor of Zeal. Masahiko would obtain the title of Emperor of Zeal after the assassination of his mentor and the previous Emperor 5 Years ago. Masahiko quickly adapted to the job and holds the title with pride and dignity, even if he finds the day to day operations and business side of things tedious and troublesome. Currently Masahiko is searching for his own star pupil to take under his wing to be made into the next potential Emperor of Zeal after his reign has ended.

Cause/Objective: To protect all of the Eight Kingdoms and all of those who reside in them.

Zeal: Gravity Control - Masahiko has immense control over the Gravitational forces, to the extent where it is hypothesized that he could destroy the planet if he channeled all of his power into it. What is known is that There is seemingly no limits over his ability to control the gravitational field around him, there also seems to be no limit in terms of how far this field can span. Masahiko’s actual abilities include bending gravity to make the environment very “heavy” or “light”, causing objects to “fall” toward another object instead of the earth (“nexus inducing”), flattening objects, and generating miniature black holes to compress objects into oblivion. They can repel and attract matter and energy regardless of its mass or move objects in a manner similar to telekinesis.

Offensive uses of this power include repulsing people or objects with such force to shatter practically anything, increasing gravity to crush or immobilize opponents, decreasing it to render them defenseless, or surrounding one's body in a gravitational field to amplify physical strength. Defensive uses include creating a gravitational force-field to repel all manner of attacks or anchoring oneself to the ground.

Name: Magnus Lombardo

Age: 36

Home Kingdom: Alnia

Gender: Male

Personality: A man who is as sharp as they come. Magnus is a man who is all about business through and through. His sense of justice leads him to act first and ask questions later. Magnus is also the type who’d prefer to observe your actions and learn about your motivations and personality before becoming close and attached to you himself as he has an immensely objective view upon the world and everyone in it. He serves the Emperor with dignity and honor and will rule over the Beslands Isle and help it further grow and develop as much as possible to benefit the World of Athesia. He has a soft spot for his pet bird Columbus, who has been with him ever since he was a kid.

Backstory: Magnus was a man with a checkered past. Being caught up in crime a lot in his youth due to many bad influences in his life drove Magnus to seek power at any cost, no matter the ramifications. Power was what he was obsessed with, instilled into him by his parents at an early age. If you’re powerless in this world, you are useless. Magnus discovered the Physical Zeal of the Panthera, which allows him to transform into a Leopard/Human hybrid. With such overwhelming physical power and speed behind him, he achieved his goal...or so he thought. He soon found himself locked away in prison with two options, change his ways and learn right from wrong from the previous Emperor of Zeal, or rot in prison for the rest of his days. Magnus chose to be free and work under the former Emperor, soon earning himself the spot of Almighty Eight member who Governs over the Beslands Isle. Now Magnus watches over the island with pride, pouncing on anyone who dares to commit heinous acts against his Kingdom.

Zeal: Panthera - A Physical Zeal that allows Magnus to transform into a Leopard/Human Hybrid. This state gives him incredible strength, speed, agility, endurance, and awareness.

Name: Zafar Nejem

Personality: Calm, Cool, and Collected. Zafar takes his duties seriously just like any other Almighty Eight member, but he finds the day to day operations quite boring and would rather kick back and relax. Zafar is a man who has become very close with the people of Kisiasta, the Kingdom he governs, and takes his time to meet and make close bonds with the people of the Nation, to the annoyance of his superiors who’d rather he be doing the business side of his job. Zafar love Frozen Dairy treats, most likely an effect of being born in a desert Kingdom, then living his adult life in a Winter Kingdom.

Backstory: Born in the desert kingdom of Varili, Zafar

Cause/Objective: To maintain peace in Kisiasta and protect the people of the Kingdom.

Zeal: Black Lightning - A Zeal that allows Zafar to control a special kind of Lightning that is Black. It is actually unknown what differences this may have on the potency of the bolts, but it has been stated by many people before that Zafar’s Lightning can paralyze even the most tenacious of foes with a single strike.

Name: Sumaya Halabi

Gender: Female

Personality: Sumaya is a devout follower of spreading joy and love to all of those she encounters. Love truly is the defining word when speaking about her. She can be quite flirtatious, as well as arrogant about her beauty. She does care deeply for her people, and will do whatever she can to keep them happy and safe.

Backstory: Sumaya Halabi was born into wealth, being a part of one of the royal families of Varili. Halabi always felt like she was above her subjects, but one day would change all of that. When an assassination plot was made on her family, killing her parents, Sumaya’s life was narrowly saved by a group of commoners when her fellow royals essentially left her for dead. From that moment on Sumaya realized that classes do not determine everything in life, it’s the acts you commit and the way you lead your life that matters most. Sumaya discovered the power of the Mitosis Zeal years later and used her healing abilities to save many lives all throughout Varili, eventually being selected as Varili’s next Almighty Eight Representative.

Cause/Objective: To spread love throughout Athesia and to defend the people of her cherished Kingdom, Varili.

Zeal: Mitosis - The user can manipulate mitosis, the division and replication of cells in themselves or others, allowing them to speed up, slow down, concentrate, make efficient, halt, and reverse mitosis. This allows them to rapidly regenerate as well as harm others by undoing their mitosis or stop people who shapeshift by mitosis. User can make mitosis more efficient to heal wounds in seconds or slow the aging process down. Sumaya mostly uses this ability against opponents from a range, channeling her Zeal Power through the Arrows she fires, essentially allowing her abilities to affect an opponent from any distance, as long as her aim is on point.

Name: Minoru Yamamoto

Age: 40

Home Kingdom: Iros

Gender: Male

Personality: A very carefree and simple minded man, Minoru would much rather sit back, drink sake, and enjoy the beauty of nature than anything else. Many of his contemporaries consider him quite lazy for his incredible power and skill, but Minoru simply believes he enjoys to live life as relaxed as possible. Don’t let this behavior deceive you however, in battle there is arguably no swordsman greater than Minoru in the entire world, with the exception of the Emperor of Zeal of course. Minoru’s comrades and loved ones are his lifeline, he’s seemingly thrown away his own life many times throughout the years even for the most insignificant of grunt soldiers within his kingdom, which should tell you all you need to know about his sense of justice.

Backstory: Minoru grew up as the eldest son of the main branch of the Yamamoto family, the ruling family over the kingdom of Iros. Minoru himself didn’t care for all of the hard work he would be inheriting upon reaching adulthood, and prefered to run around and play swordsman with his childhood best friends Ryu Shimura, the Father of Nisaku Shimura, and Luna Ishikawa, the Almighty Eight Ruler over Alnia. Minoru would grow into being more accepting of the role of Leader of the Yamamoto Clan and Iros’ Almighty Eight representative with Luna as a fellow Almighty King and Ryu as his right hand man. All of that would change 17 years ago when the Iros Kingdom was attacked by a mysterious group who waged war against Minoru’s forces. The attackers were pushed out of the kingdom successfully, but not without many casualties. These included Ryu who sacrificed himself to allow his wife Misaki and newborn child to escape with their lives. Seven years later Minoru would head to Alnia to inform Luna that they’d finally completely rebuilt the Iros Kingdom after this massive conflict and to catch up with her. In the middle of his travel through Alnia, he bumped into a young boy by the name of Nisaku Shimura and Minoru instantly took a liking to the boy, for reasons Nisaku still has not found out. That’s when Minoru told Nisaku to become powerful, to achieve the dream that unknown to Nisaku, his own father possessed but never got to realize before his untimely death. And then Minoru gave Nisaku his own father’s signature blade, Ryu no Kiba. Minoru of course also met with Misaki and requested for her to not inform Nisaku of Ryu’s ties to himself or the sword, stating it would be best for the boy to learn that on his own when he’s older. Since then Minoru has been his usual laid back self. Leisurely reminiscing over the old days.

Cause/Objective: To maintain peace in the Iros kingdom and look after the people of it.

Zeal: The Devil’s Reach - Black, Demonic Arms sprout from the ground in a root like manner all around Minoru. These Arms have virtually infinite range, can stab or punch their way through flesh and bone easily, and are capable of restraining most any foe long enough for Minoru to easily move in and cut them down with his Katana.

Name: Luna Ishikawa

Age: 38

Home Kingdom: Iros

Gender: Female

Personality: Luna has always had an infatuation with the idea of Superheroes. Her sense of justice was decided from an early age, taking much inspiration from Caped Crusaders who would defend the innocents at all costs. Luna can also be a bit of an impatient woman when it comes certain people, namely the very lazy and simple minded Minoru Yamamoto, a fellow Almighty Eight representative and childhood friend of hers. Luna’s bravado is arguably only matched by Hunter Armstrong, another one of the Almighty Eight.

Backstory: Luna grew up in the Iros Kingdom, alongside Ryu Shimura and Minoru Yamamoto. Luna was always to one keeping Minoru and Ryu out of trouble from their parents, and constantly scolded the two boys for their immature attitudes. Deep down she loved being with the two of them no matter what was happening, because of how strict and harsh her parents could be due to her lack of interest in traditional Iros culture. In truth, Luna decided to herself internally that once she was old enough, she was leaving Iros and going to Alnia to become a great hero and nothing would stop her. And she made good on this promise, nearly throwing it away when she couldn’t bring herself to say goodbye to Ryu and Minoru. The two young men urged their friend on to chase her dreams and that the three of them would meet once again later when they always achieved their goals. Unfortunately for Luna, this day would never come when she learned the news of Ryu’s death during the Conflict of Tanegashima. Since then she’s solely devoted herself to being the ultimate hero to the people of Alnia, constantly travelling throughout to Kingdom taking down villains of all kinds, from the most major of threats in major populated areas, to the pettiest of small time criminals in rural areas. A Villain is a villain to her and she’ll deal with all of them the same way, with the swift fist of Justice to set them straight.

Cause/Objective: To be the greatest hero the world has ever known and bring down all villains who threaten the people of Alnia.

Zeal: Maximum Strength - Users are able to exert 100% of the body's muscular strength, maximizing the capacity, while under normal conditions most humans (and other humanoid beings) only exert 20-30%.

Name: Jax

Age: 43

Home Kingdom: Naly Rati

Gender: Male

Personality: The reserved and stoic one of the bunch when it comes to the Almighty Eight. Only choosing to speak in very key moments, you always know Jax has something important to say when he opens his mouth. He is also an avid lover of animals, particularly the birds native to the mountain tops of Nali Raty. He also runs an orphanage for small children in his base village of Gamya, the capital of Nali Raty

Backstory: A boy born into poverty and raised without his parents. Jax grew up under the care of his elder brother Blade. The two boys survived and lived a quiet life together in a poor village in Nali Raty, eventually however some criminals came. They demanded everyone in the village pay up or be killed. When they got to Jax and he had nothing to offer the criminals, that’s when his brother stepped in and attempted to fight the thugs off, resulting in his death. That’s when Jax went berserk, unlocking his Zeal of Negation. He quickly dispatched of the thugs and everyone in the village commended his bravery for saving them. However Jax simply mourned the loss of his brother. The loss of the only person truly close to Jax in his life turned him into a full blown introvert, even during meetings between the Almighty Eight, he’ll say nothing more than his greetings and goodbyes to the other Kings.

Alignment: Good

Cause/Objective: To watch over the people of Naly Rati and keep them safe.

Zeal: Negation - Jax is able to attack his opponents and when he strikes them with his specialized right arm, they’re own Zeal powers become negated and essentially useless. Jax’s signature fighting style is aiming for that decisive right hand, then facing his opponent in what boils down to a normal hand to hand fight, one that he most times comes out on top in due to his incredible physical traits, namely strength and endurance. The fatal flaw of this is that the ability of Negation is only channeled within Jax’s right arm, being attacked by the rest of his body causes no effect on his opponents.

Name: Xena Dobra

Age: 35

Home Kingdom: Paljire

Gender: Female

Personality: Paljire is quite hot blooded, short tempered, and hostile. Just like all of the other Almighty Eight, she is quite passionate about her job and will do all she can to look after and defend her Kingdom of Paljire. She’s just a bit more blunt and direct in her approach to seeking justice than her contemporaries. Xena also is quite the eater, engaging in food eating contests with Hunter from the neighboring land of Lochernia and consistently getting the better of him, although it’s always very close.

Backstory: Xena Dobra is a member of the Dobra Royal Family. The family who rules over the land of Paljire. Xena grew up the middle child with two boys who were both as hot headed as she is, which only drove her to be even more powerful and to not let anything stop her from achieving her goals. Xena was always told that because she was the daughter of the trio, she’d always be the one left out when it came to important family affairs. This led her to become incredibly tomboyish as she practically was seen as one of the boys over the years. Xena entered the Zeal Games as a teenager and dominated the field, being one of only a handful of females to be successful in the near 100 years of the Zeal Games’ existence. Xena now strikes fear into the hearts of would be criminals who are stupid enough to cause trouble under her powerful boot.

Cause/Objective: To maintain order in Paljire and beat down anyone who threatens that.

Zeal: Eruption - Very similar to the Fire Elemental Zeal, this power could almost be seen as Fire Plus. The main difference in this ability is that Xena does not cast Lava from nothing. No, her ability allows her to summon or create volcanoes from will. These volcanoes are the source of her Lava powers. Once the Lava is spewed from the Volcanoes, that is when she can freely control and manipulate it to her desire.

Name: Hunter Armstrong

Age: 45

Home Kingdom: Lochernia

Gender: Male

Personality: Loud, Proud, and full of Bravado. Honor is the key word when talking about Hunter. It is what he lives by, and has he states...it shall be what he dies by. Hunter loves a good challenge, no matter what it is in. Sword Fighting, Wrestling, Jousting, Eating Contest, Foot Race. You name it and Hunter will most likely compete in you against it. He is a jovial man who just loves to have a good time and push himself. But don’t let that trick you, in combat Hunter Armstrong is a monster. He’s had the spot of Strongest Man in Lochernia secured for over two decades now. And Lochernia is the Kingdom best known for breeding the most physically dominant warriors in all of Athesia.

Backstory: A boy born into nobility as a part of the Armstrong Family, Hunter understood from a very young age what his duties would one day be to the Kingdom of Lochernia. Hunter trained rigorously, arguably more as a child than he does now as a grown man. Hunter spent his free time roaming the wilderness of Lochernia, wrestling with bears, scaling the tallest trees possible dozens of times a day, and slicing boulders with his sword slices.

Alignment: Good

Cause/Objective: To uphold honor in the Kingdom of Lochernia and bring any who oppose it to justice.

Zeal: Shockwave - Hunter possesses the ability to launch shockwaves at his opponents even at far distances due to the sheer pressure created from his ridiculously powerful physical blows. This is due to not only the Shockwave Zeal, but also because of his monstrous natural power. Hunter mostly uses this in combination with his signature sword Requiem, Glory of the Caged Mind. However he can use this from any of his own body parts as well, such as his hands, feet, knees, and elbows.
